Venturepharm Group has established a collaboration with Canadian biotech Lorus Therapeutics in August 2008 to develop Lorus’ portfolio of cancer drugs. Lorus has eight molecules in its pipeline.
The platform will leverage on both parties’ Oncology expertise in preclinical research, clinical trials, volunteer/patient recruitment, and commercialization, etc. This collaboration is to achieve optimized Oncology drug R&D, substantial cost reduction, and new generation cancer therapeutics.
Venturepharm also announced in July 2008 that it has absorbed Acesys Pharmatech, a Nanjing global drug discovery CRO with about 70 chemists, to form the Chemical Drug Discovery (CMC) Division of Venturepharm Asia and provide help to Exelgen ' operation in China. |
