Vice Health Minister Li Yi was on the Chinese delegation in the U.S. for the US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue between July 27 and 28.
During the dialogue, Li Yi introduced to the U.S. side the Chinese healthcare reform and suggested globally-coordinated efforts in containing new epidemic diseases and chronic disease. Li Yi also met with Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Secretary of Health and Public Services, Howard Koh, Deputy U.S. Secretary of Health and Public Services, and Tom Frieden, Director of the U.S. Center for Disease Control.
Separately, Chinese Health Minister Chen Zhu met a senior delegation of Pfizer headed by its Chairman and CEO Jeff Kingler. They discussed about China's healthcare reform and future cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Pfizer. |
